These reading were created during my years of working in the Newark Public Schools.

I walked to Newark from Elizabeth and documented the trip. We stoped at a school that was closed and read some of the stories in side yard of the school.

This was inspired by Joseph Beuys the Jesus Sculpture on the donkey at the Cloister in NYC. I spent the day in a storefront window next to the gallery and improvised with my dog.

I tried to create a collage of the people who nurtured me. The work is a cleansing and a marriage of past and present.

This work was inspired  after observing a cicada come out of its shell in my studio at 12 am and the poem Cigarra by Lorca
