I started this work in 2012 and finished it in June 2021. What initially attracted me was the transparency and how the backlighting effected the translucent colors. The 8”X10” Plexiglas picture boxes reminded me of popular rings that my older cousin Taide wore in the mid-sixties. It also reminded me of stained-glass windows In the Cathedral in Santiago. The layering and caressing the surface is not intended to remember stories but instead to activate smells, feelings and a presence that brings life. These boxes extend from the wall and attached to the wall by the 1” X 10” border. I want to assault the viewer, to force them to move around the work. The titles are whispers that I hear from the works as I caressed the surface wile making them.
